But a few cities do it better than the rest. Here are our top 8 cities with the best food trucks to check out as soon as you’ve made the LeafFilter choice.

Charleston, SC

Find food trucks downtown Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston’s food truck scene is out of this world – literally. From a thoroughly holy bbq joint to back from the grave zombie pizza, there’s nothing ordinary about the food trucks in Charleston. If you follow the Charleston Food Truck Federation, you can stay up to date on events like the city’s yearly food truck festivals, which are always a roaring success. You can find food trucks all over the city, but they tend to congregate on Eat Street – a parking lot located off of Morris and Coming streets. Here’s a few you might want to make a beeline for:

Hello My Name Is BBQ Truck – South Carolina is known for its barbecue, so the bar is set pretty high, but this truck delivers. Their braised pork Holy City sandwich is a spiritual experience in and of itself, not to mention all the different toppings you can pick to go on it.

Bac’n Me Crazy – Capitalizing on the bacon craze, this food truck serves almost everything with bacon, even their sweet treats, and it couldn’t be more delicious.

Zombie Bob’s Pizza – After a brief hiatus, Zombie Bob’s is making a comeback in a big way. They’ve teamed up with a local brewery and are bringing back their famous yeasty pizza dough from the grave (Sorry, we just had to make a zombie joke).

Durham, NC

Durham, North Carolina is a great place to find food trucks

The food trucks in Durham hit a home run for delicious international food on the go. Of course they have All-American food trucks as well (and they’re certainly delicious), but what makes Durham stand out from the rest is the diversity of their offerings. The wide selection of internationally inspired food in this region may be a bit surprising to some, so you’ll just have to visit and see for yourself all that they offer. Here’s a small taste of their international delights:

American Meltdown – Remember how we mentioned their All-American fare? This is the perfect example. There’s nothing more American than the hearty Beer and Bacon melt or the spicy Buffalo Blitz melt.

Parlez-Vous Crêpe – When you spot the hot pink truck coming from miles away, you know you’ll soon have your chance to experience a French staple. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, anything on their delicately delicious crêpes is wonderful.

Belgian Waffle Crafters – Belgian waffle making is truly a craft at this food truck. Slightly crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, the waffles from this truck taste like they’re straight out of Belgium. You can add whatever toppings fit your fancy, but, even a plain waffle from these waffle craftsmen is outstanding.

Pie Pushers – The oozy, gooey, taste of Italian heaven pizzas at this truck are a can’t-miss. Enough said.

Chirba Chirba Dumpling – If you’re a fan of Chinese dumplings, you’re in luck. Taking a bite out of a “Choy to the World” dumpling dipped in traditional black vinegar is a heavenly experience. So what are you waiting for? “Chirba chirba!” (Meaning, “Eat, eat!”)

St. Louis, MO

Food truck in St. Louis, Missouri are top notch

St. Louis is serious about their food trucks. To find all of your favorite St. Louis food trucks in one place, don’t miss out on the annual Chomp and Food Truck Frolic events. With an organization like the St. Louis Food Truck Association backing the city’s food truck fleet, you know you’ll have nothing but a fantastic experience at any place you choose. They’re all focused on a common goal:  Providing great food and hospitality, and bettering the community. This makes the food truck scene in St. Louis unique from other places, which can get a little cut throat with the competition. Each truck fulfills a different craving, but there are a few that really stand out. If you’re in the area you’ll definitely want to hit up these trucks:

Guerrilla Street Food – This truck is a little newer on the scene – they just celebrated a year in business – but they’re already making a name for themselves. The Filipino-inspired dishes were a welcomed addition to the St. Louis food scene. Customers absolutely love their chicken adobo.

Lulu’s Local Eatery – This truck is an old familiar in St. Louis. Using local, sustainably grown produce, Lulu’s offers healthy, wholesome food to the community.

Go Gyro Go – The St. Louis community loves to get their Greek on at Go Gyro Go! Gyros are the perfect on-the-go meal for anyone. If you stop by this truck, you’re in for a treat – the pita wrapped delights at this truck are packed with flavor.

Cha Cha Chow – This truck brings a Latin flair to St. Louis. It’s got tons of tacos (the beef short rib taco is to die for), of course, but the Latin-inspired spicy burger is a pleasant surprise. Anything you try here is sure to be a hit.

Cleveland, OH

Cleveland, Ohio has some rockin' food trucks

In the land of Rock’n’Roll, Cavs and Indians, and Lake Erie living, food trucks rule. The city celebrates Food Truck Friday, of course, but food trucks also come out in droves on Walnut Wednesday. The weekly affair is definitely a Cleveland thing – it’s aptly named for its location on Walnut Avenue – so you won’t see it anywhere else. But what’s so special about Cleveland’s food trucks? Well, a whopping 32 food trucks were nominated for a recent competition to find the absolute best food truck in Cleveland, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Cleveland’s food trucks offer culinary delights inspired by countless regions and cultures – from Asian fusion to Creole creations to All-American fare and more, even the pickiest eater is bound to find something crave worthy. Here are some of our personal favorite food trucks in Cleveland:

Slyman’s – Serving Cleveland’s most famous corned beef sandwich, this place is certainly not skimpy with their portions. Expect to leave this truck stuffed and happy.

Barrio – This food truck serves Mexican-inspired creations, and are known far and wide for their daydream-worthy tacos. All of their fillings are fabulous, so you may get overwhelmed trying to decide what to put in a build-your-own taco, but that’s half the fun of it!

Wok n Roll – Recently voted Cleveland’s best food truck, Wok n Roll serves deliciously unique Asian fusion fare. The Korean poutine, an awesome twist on the Canadian dish, is one of their most popular menu items.

Zydeco – Specializing in Cajun and creole cuisine, this truck brings some spice to the Cleveland food truck scene.

Swenson’s – Experience the All-American burgers, milkshakes, and fries that LeBron James just can’t get enough of.

Austin, TX

Austin, Texas food trucks are the best around

Texas, as a whole, has it going on when it comes to food trucks. But two Texas locales really go above and beyond. Austin is one of them. The city has perhaps the widest selection of food trucks in one place. You’ll be hard-pressed to find just one favorite amongst the huge selection (we had a hard time narrowing our features down to the few you’ll see below!). From decadent donuts to Texas delicacies, you’ll find foods to fit all your moods. Here are some highlights of what you’ll find in Austin:

Gourdough’s – These aren’t just any ordinary donuts. Most of their creations require a fork and knife to eat them with some amount of grace. With offerings such as the “Mother Clucker,” which features a fried chicken-topped donut, and the “Cherry Bomb,” which is a donut filled to the hilt with cherry deliciousness, you won’t find donuts like these anywhere else.

Coolhaus – The truck is small, but the ice cream is mighty. There’s nothing better than building your own cookie ice cream sandwich with your favorite flavors on a hot Austin day.

The Ginger Armadillo – They have tacos, they have burgers, and, best of all, they have Texas BBQ. Can you say yum? Their menu changes regularly, but, currently, their BBQ pork kolache sandwich is on point.

The Best Wurst – Their German-style pork sausage is a tasty nod to the area’s German heritage, but the true gem on their menu is the smoked jalapeno, which past customers rave about.

Chi’Lantro – This truck serves food with a twist – a Mexican/Korean twist, that is. If you’re craving tacos for breakfast, try the Congress, which features spicy pork. If you go with a noodle bowl (which is made of spiralized sweet potato noodles), adding kimchi as a topping is a must!

Dallas, TX

Grab some grub at the food trucks in downtown Dallas, Texas

Dallas is the other Texas locale with a standout food truck scene. What started as a quick way for workers to grab a quick lunch downtown has truly exploded into a phenomenon. The city has dedicated food truck parks, which makes grabbing a bite to eat insanely easy. Similar to Austin, Dallas’s offerings range from down home Texas fare to globally inspired dishes. Here’s a few that the locals can’t stop talking about:

Misha’s Kitchen – Russian cuisine isn’t as commonly seen in the food truck universe, but, based off of Misha’s Kitchen, we think it should be. With comfort food like cabbage rolls and pierogis, you’ll leave this truck with a full and happy stomach.

Nammi –The Vietnamese fare at Nammi is unrivaled. You’ll find the best Bánh Mì in the region at this food truck – and that’s not an exaggeration!

Jack’s Chow Hound – Get ready to chow down on some good old-fashioned Texas meats at Jack’s Chow Hound. The pulled pork grilled cheese is definitely something to put on your bucket list.

Cajun Tailgators – The South gets spice right, and this food truck is no exception. The Cajun cuisine here will make you feel like you’re walking the streets of New Orleans it’s so good. They have jambalaya and gumbo galore, but the real treat is the beignets at the end of the meal!

Boise, ID

Boise, Idaho is the best in the Midwest for food trucks

Boise, which has fought long and hard for the right to park their food trucks and open for business, puts a whole new spin on, “food truck revolution.” With so many fabulous food trucks in the area, it’s no wonder the people have fought so hard! There’s traditional street food (like what you’d expect at a carnival), but, if you’re willing to branch out, they have a ton of unique offerings. Here are some of our favorites:

Tiki Teriyaki – Get a taste of Hawaii here in the mainland at Tiki Teriyaki. Your first bite of teriyaki chicken with a side of pineapple coleslaw will have you in the mood for a full blown luau.

The Funky Taco – Tacos seem to be a food truck staple these days. But Funky Taco goes above and beyond with creations like their gargantuan “Macho Taco” and their kimchi quesadilla.

Fresh Betty Spaghetti – The fresh noodles, famous sauce, and hearty meatballs make for a surprisingly gourmet meal on the go. And don’t worry, you can’t miss the “Betty Bus,” as it’s called – it’s fire engine red.

Seattle, WA

Seattle, Washington is ahead of the curve with their food trucks

In the land of trendiness, it probably comes as no surprise that the food truck scene is booming in Seattle. Food trucks caught on early here, so they’re a little ahead of the game compared to other cities. The food trucks in this area have an almost cult-like following, but we can see why. From tasty food to top-notch service, Seattle food trucks hit all the right notes. Here are a few that’ll knock your socks off:

Marination Mobile – The sliders and tacos at Marination are crave worthy. The secret recipe Nunya sauce is so popular, they’re even selling it in jars to use at home. This taste of “Everyday Aloha” in the Hawaiian-Korean fusion foods bring a bit of the exotic to Seattle.

I Love My GFF – The gluten-free movement is strong in Seattle, and the competition is fierce. With flavor packed quinoa bowls and Coco-nuts cookies, the food is so tasty, you won’t believe it’s gluten-free.

Cheese Wizards – Cheesy delights so good they’re almost magical. No really. Their grilled cheese sandwiches are so good, it’s almost like they wave their Elder wand or use the power of voodoo to bring Seattle the best around.
